Just one cookie cutter (you could even use a water glass!) and just one icing consistency means fewer products to purchase and less time spent prepping icing. Who doesn’t want cookie decorating that is more streamlined, fun AND efficient 😉
This class is great for little ones as well. Need something to entertain the kiddos during vacation or a an activity to do with grandma/grandpa? Look no further!
Easy Summer Sugar Cookies
What makes these Easy Summer Sugar Cookies so special?
I have a few beginner summer classes already, but I didn’t have one on CIRCLES. So obviously I have to make one 😉
This set uses my signature 1-consistency and 1-shape approach for my beginner classes, and doesn’t require any additional fancy stuff! We love that for beginner classes.
It’s simple, bright and fresh… it just screams summer!
The best parts of this class?
First… ONE shape!! And it’s a circle! Which means you can even use a water glass instead of a cookie cutter 😉
Second… One consistency! Which means less time spent prepping!
Third… A limited color palette (again, less time spent prepping!).
Royal icing skills covered in this class:
- One consistency outline and flood
- Working with tipless bags
- Piping and flooding with a thick flood
- Different wet on wet technique applications (leopard and bear)
- Cutouts
You will learn how to decorate (from start to finish) NINE Easy Summer Sugar Cookies

Pool Cookie
The original design for this pool comes from SweetAmbs, but I did my own twist to simplify the execution and make it all with royal icing 🙂

Beach Ball Cookie
A beach ball is a classic design to include in a summer set and we’re simplifying it here with just 4 sections for beginner (instead of the usual 6).

Pineapple Cookie
That’s one fine apple! (Adding some variety to the set by scraping the base layer instead of flooding it.)

Tropical Flower Cookie
A little tropical flower inspo is a must for summer!

Ice Cream Drip Cookie
Summer just screams melty drippy ice cream 😉

Sun Cookie
This sun gets the crackle effect and a lil extra somethin’ somethin’ in the flooding process 😉

Grapefruit Cookie
I have a confession: these next three designs are all made exactly the same 😉

Lime Cookie
They just use different colors, which makes them into three unique cirtrus fruits.

Lemon Cookie
In fact, you could make and ENTIRE set out of just these three cookies! Make orange icing too for orange slices!

Free Resources for this Set
For every class set, I still produce my usual YouTube videos. One is a sped-up compilation of the full set (at a more reasonable pace than the fast video above) and the second is a tutorial. This tutorial video is *not* at all like the class video.
The free YouTube tutorial video (below) shows each cookie in real-time with a voiceover, however, it is much shorter than the class videos and does not include any additional resources (classes include a 60+ page workbook).
I deliver my class videos as if I was teaching a live class, so a 20 minute YouTube tutorial can easily be a 2 hour class video. Either way, I like to provide different levels of information with different levels of investment. Choose the path that best suits you!
